Anyone ever go to something like this? I live in the area and was just curious if anyone has been, or knows anyone that is going.

| I personally haven't gone to one but my ex-wife has gone to 3 Raiders of the Lost Arch (Cobalt) parties and the Ohio one last year. she has a blast at all of them. |

I haven't been to one yet, no, because they've been too far away from me, and my traveling distance would be a tad bit limited now. In a year or so, I'd be able to fly more easily, so I could go to a meet-up anywhere provided I had the funding, and I'd love to go.
So, yeah, I can't tell you anything based on experiences, but I've heard people say they're a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to going to one next year sometime if it all works out. |

Yeah there was one at the beginning of this year that was literally 20 minutes walk from my house. Myself and Jezz were very tempted but as there were no Sage people that we even remotely knew (and hardly any of them from Sage anyway), we decided against it.
I would be tempted, but only if I knew some of the people going. That's why when Jezz and I go on our hols this year (mainly New Zealand and Australia but also stopping off at choice areas of America), we are attempting to meet 1 or 2 (or several) crew members on the way! It might not work...hell it might be a total disaster...but it's still worth a shot! |

| I've thought about going, but like Lomky, I can be socially awkward at times too :P I was hoping that if someone I had at least talked to in game was there it wouldn't be quite as bad. I talked to a couple people in Cobalt that are going, but yeah it would be cool to get Sage pirates there. |

Wow- nobody on Sage goes because... no one on Sage goes? Hee hee.
From what I've seen of players and ringers, they're a cool bunch. You'd have to work pretty hard to feel awkward around people who think the same way you do- just go and have fun. :D
Speaking of which, this might be interesting, though it's still rather incomplete. (Meet online friends in a well-lit public place, internet safety, yadda yadda- but I think most of our officers are old enough I can skip that speech)

| I went to one PA parties awhile back. It's a real good group. I knew a fair number through game, but I still found them to be quite open and accepting all around. I'm (secretly) considering this one, and would recommend them to anyone who happens to be close to them. |

I've never been to one for this, but I've hit a couple of these sorts of things for other on-line gaming groups I've been in. They've always been a lot of fun... even the one I went to three years after I stopped playing with the group that ran it. ^^ If one ever happens within some reasonable distance of Maine/Quebec and doesn't conflict with work, I'll probably wander over.
Meandering off-topic... anyone go to cons? (Not the anime ones - those fans are scary and I can't draw bishounen.) |

I have gone to the Comic-con in CA and I've been to three different faerie festivals.
There is Faerie-con coming out that I may go to, but unsure yet as the timing conflicts with out of state visitors :)
I'd say if a YPP meeting was near me, I would go as its always a chance to meet people you have common interests in :D |

| Comic-con is one of my longterm goals to go to, but for now I stick to my local Nekocon in Hampton Roads. If anyone's headed there, though :D |
